A Proposition for the DARTMOUTH SUMMER SEASON RESEARCH PROJECT ON EXPERT SYSTEM

We recommend that a 2 month, 10 male research study of expert system be performed throughout the summertime of 1956 at Dartmouth University in Hanover, New Hampshire. The research study is to continue on the basis of the conjecture that every facet of discovering or any other function of knowledge can in concept be so precisely described that a machine can be made to simulate it. An effort will certainly be made to locate just how to make makers utilize language, kind abstractions and ideas, fix sort of problems now booked for human beings, and enhance themselves. We believe that a significant breakthrough can be made in one or more of these troubles if a meticulously selected team of scientists service it with each other for a summer.
